In Cartagena de Indias is an interesting confluence of cultures for more than 500 years, starting with the Indian, Spanish, African and Arab. All framed in one of the most beautiful cities in the Caribbean, where the visitor is treated like it deserves, a cheerful and uncomplicated style of Cartagena.

Cartagena de Indias is a shining pearl of beauty to be located in the Caribbean. The best beaches in Cartagena are in Bocagrande, the main tourist area of the city. 

Cartagena's beaches are safe for swimming, but high tides or strong currents. The most frequented beaches have safety flags to warn swimmers bad weather. The red flag means you must stay out of the water, but for surfers flag means it's time to go and waiting for the high tide. 

Cartagena, a city that boasts 17 miles of beach, warm waters offer the chance to enjoy the soft sand and scorching sun, framed under blue sky.

Historic Sites


INDIA CATALINA.


India Catalina is one of the indigenous characters in the history of Colombia. Belonging to the Calamarí ethnicity, was one of the richest women in Cartagena de Indias. During the Spanish colonial period in the present department of Bolivar.

CASTILLO SAN FELIPE DE BARAJAS.


The Castillo San Felipe de Barajas is a fortress located in the Colombian city of Cartagena de Indias. It is located on a hill called San Lazaro and was built in 1536 during the Spanish colonial era.

MURALLAS.


The walls were designed in order to protect the Cartagena suffering ongoing attacks. Its construction was carried out in stages, beginning in 1586 Bautista Antonelli, an Italian engineer in the service of the Spanish Crown. Then came in 1608 Cristóbal de Roda, who fortify most of the part of town that overlooks the open sea. 

TORRE DEL RELOJ.


It is the representative symbol of Cartagena, and main gateway to the city. The clock tower was added in the nineteenth century. In front of the tower is a statue of Pedro de Heredia, founder of the city.
